Now before everybody gets all upset I would like to preface this post by saying I neither agree nor condone the following I am simply stating how I view the general public.
The reason I don't feel the democrats will win the election in 2008 is simple. This country isn't ready to elect a woman or a black man. At least not one named Barack Hussein Obama. The best chance the dems have for winning this election is John Edwards. The problem is he wont be able to raise the money. Hillary can't carry the female vote and without it she can't win the election. Obama won't be able to carry enough of the white vote and will have the same result. Therefore we will have a Republican in office again in 2008.

I agree with the Hillary comment. To many people hate her, it's not that I wouldn't vote for a woman, I just wont vote for her. If she or Obama win the primaries you will have a lot of people who will vote against them, instead of voting for a republican. So I believe we will have a Rep. That and all the Dems want to pull out of Iraq, that is STUPID!!!!! I don't care if you agree with it or not, we started it, we HAVE TO FINISH IT!!!!
I had a feeling you would agree with me on that one. I'm not sure what the long term answer is for Iraq but once again I agree with you we can't just leave now or the country maybe even the whole region will fall into total chaos.
I guess people have forgotten that's what happened in Afganistan. We helped them ein the war against the Russians, only to leave abruptlt. When we did the Taliban and Al Qiada stepped in. We deffinately don't want that to happen again. We can't just pull out and leave these people to the wolves, we have to finish what we started. It's Clinton that started this problem in the first place. He miss ran the situation in Somalia when they pulled Operation Restore hope and brought in Operation Ranger. A few American got killed and instead of Kickin some Ass, he turned tail and ran away. That's what the world thinks now, that if you kill enouph American we will go away.

We weren't really "there" in the first place against the Sovs. We just sent a whole bunch of money, guns and shoulder-fired missiles [which we eventually had to buy back at a premium!].
The original point is right on, though...The Democrat base is the only sort of American voter who would vote for a black man or a woman, period--and even some of them might balk at voting for a dude whose name is exactly like the types who blow themselves up in crowded markets or get hung after we overthrow their dictatorship.
